Mediation

At Christina White Legal, we believe that not every family conflict needs to be a courtroom battle. Mediation offers a different path—one built on cooperation, open dialogue, and mutual respect. We’re proud to offer mediation services to help families reach fair, lasting agreements without the stress and cost of litigation.

What Is Mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process where a neutral third party—called the mediator—helps both sides work through issues and find common ground. In family law, mediation can address a wide range of matters, including parenting time, decision-making responsibilities, child support, property division, and spousal maintenance.

In Illinois, mediation is often required by the courts in cases involving children, especially those in Kane County, but it can also be a proactive choice for couples who want more control over the outcome of their separation or divorce.

Why Choose Mediation?

Mediation puts you in the driver’s seat. Rather than having a judge make decisions about your family’s future, mediation allows you and the other party to craft solutions that fit your unique needs. It’s often faster, more cost-effective, and less emotionally draining than traditional litigation.

We’ve seen firsthand how mediation can preserve relationships, especially when children are involved. It allows families to move forward with dignity and clarity—two things we believe everyone deserves.
